The highly acclaimed “Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing!” (LLGF) educational series is pleased to welcome CCA Florida STAR, TACO Marine® and Seaguar as annual partners. The relationship furthers efforts to encourage the female sector to participate in fishing and boating through educational programming.
Known for its emphasis on conservation, LLGF offers weekend, immersion-based fishing universities that focus on women and novice to mid-level experienced anglers. What sets this series apart is the one-on-one skill practice, including catch and release, de-hooking, spin, net and fly casting, trailer backing, knot tying, plus the fishing option. Most weekend events include classes, hands-on skill practice, networking and optional charter fishing. Focusing on women, the educational series touts 8,000 graduates from 44 states to learn and experience fishing for Florida’s inshore and offshore saltwater and freshwater species.
Leiza Fitzgerald, STAR Director, commented, “CCA Florida STAR encourages people to catch and release tagged red fish and other inshore and offshore species for prizes, with the end result being education regarding the conservation of our marine fisheries and supporting CCA’s (Coastal Conservation Association) conservation efforts. It makes sense to partner with an organization whose mission is to include the development of female anglers while teaching conservation ethics to new and impressionable anglers.”
TACO Marine provided a set of its most popular sport fishing outrigger mounts, the Grand Slam 280s, a pair of 15-foot Aluminum Tele-Outriggers, a set of Line Caddies and a Premium Rigging Kit. Additionally, TACO plans to feature Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing on its social media pages, including it’s popular YouTube channel, youtube.com/tacomarine.
“We believe in the importance of introducing more women to sport fishing and boating,” said TACO Marketing Lead Dana Koman. “Because of this, we are proud to sponsor Betty and her program Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing. We really look forward to highlighting women in sport fishing and believe that Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing will make a tremendous impact in the marine industry.”
Seaguar has provided a selection of Pink Label fluorocarbon leader to the seminar series.
CCA Florida STAR, TACO Marine and Seaguar join the list of Annual partners Freedom Boat Club, Treasure Cay Beach Marina & Golf Resort, Sunrise Resort & Marina, AFTCO/Guy Harvey Sportswear, Future Angler Foundation, ICOM America, Taylor Made, Frogg Toggs, Costa del Mar, Hubbard’s Marina, Smith Optics and Star Brite. More donors are listed in the organization’s website.
Major partners include Scout Boats, Seven Seas Yacht Sales, Recreational Fishing and Boating Foundation/Take Me Fishing/Vamos a Pescar, Mercury, Magic Tilt trailers, Penn, Power-Pole and Fish Florida.
“We’re excited to partner with these fantastic organizations who have interest in developing the female sector of fishing. According to RBFF, women make up 33% of all anglers, as well as 45% of new anglers and we’re working to change that.”” added Bauman.
