Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing Costa Rica – From Challenge to Success!
Ladies traveled from as far away as Texas to attend the Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing Costa Rica Adventure Nov. 11-18. Held at Crocodile Bay Resort, Puerto Jimenez, the trip offered exciting fishing and eco tours.
The women released two Pacific sailfish out of five hookups, six roosterfish up to 35 lbs., eight large jack crevalle, an amberjack, two king mackerel and two bonito. While live bating and trolling on the Strike tower boat, they caught three yellowfin tuna over 90 lbs. out of five hookups, five snappers of different species and hooked a tigershark. “”I fished so much I could barely feel my hands the next day!” said Andrea Beuter, Bonita Springs, FL. “The Crocodile Bay staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable! It was perfectly equipped for fishing with wonderful captains and mates.”
While most of the time was spent fishing, they also ventured to the rainforest for zip lining and biking. The weather varied from pleasant to torrential rain storms. When the weather interrupted their quest for sailfish, there were plenty of other species to target. The women described this as an adventure to remember and a fun opportunity to make new friends. Some also had the chance to hone skills for releasing fish and reviving sailfish. Photos are on the LLGF website photo gallery as well as their Facebook page.
Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing conducts multiple weekend seminars in various cities, offering opportunities to learn fishing and conservation over a weekend with classroom presentations, personal hands-on skill practice with guides, networking and fishing from charter boats.
