PLEASE RSVP FOR THE PARTY with how many are coming and if you are bringing an appetizer on this link: https://www.ladiesletsgofishing.com/ne-fl-party-res/

What to bring: You do not need to bring fishing equipment. You may want to bring your checkbook, credit card or cash (preferred) for the raffle, shirt sales and silent auction (which ends Sat. at the party). We recommend you bring a sweater on Saturday, as the classrooms can be chilly. You will also need to bring your lunch/food/drinks/digital camera for the Sunday fishing trip.

Dress:  Casual. shorts/T-shirts are fine including the party. Please wear soft sole shoes or boat shoes to the class if you plan to board any boats during the skill station session on Saturday.

Cancellation: See website for the complete policy. Basically, 45 days in advance receive registration minus fee, no refund for fishing but can send substitute. 31 days advance, same except higher cancel fee. 30 days advance, class credit for registration, no fishing refund. 15 days advance no refunds. If you sign up for the No Worries policy/$25 you can cancel up to 14 days in advance and get refund for registration and fishing fees, or 10 days advance receive registration back, for fishing, only if we can fill your spot.

Fishing Adventure Notes: Be sure you have pre-paid for your Fishing Adventure to guarantee your fishing trip, as space is limited. If you noted on your registration that there is more than one person in your party, we will try to put you on the same boat but cannot guarantee it. Type of fishing (trolling, live baiting, bottom fishing, etc.) will be the preference of the boat captain.  We’ve informed the captains of our objectives and expect them to do their best to make your fishing trip enjoyable. There are no class instructors on the boats, so it is up to you to ask the captain and/or mate questions.  We cannot guarantee you will catch fish, but we usually do bring fish to the dock when fishing conditions are good.

Please be prepared for the unpredictable Florida weather. Brief rain showers are not unusual. Wear soft sole shoes.  Swimsuits are OK.  If you bring a digital camera we can download your day’s photos when you return. For cell phone photos please email your fishing photos to us after the seminar.  You may want to bring sodas and snacks, sunscreen, rain gear and a hat. You will be asked to sign a waiver.  Boats will depart at 8 am, with exact times on your name badge.  We recommend you arrive at the docks a half hour early. Most boats will leave from the Marlin Club. If you are not on your boat at the time of departure you will miss your fishing trip and forfeit your fishing adventure fee.  The boats will not return to the dock early for any reason except unsafe conditions. They will not return because of seasickness!  You will need to arrange for your transportation from the hotel to the dock.  You may want to eat your lunch on the boat because there will be no food served upon your return.

You will be allowed to keep the fish you catch.  Please bring you own cooler, bags and ice, as we do not provide them.  Bring cash for 15 – 20% gratuity.

Saltwater Fishing Licenses: You will not need a fishing license if you are fishing from the party boat or if you are a full time Florida resident age 65 or over. We may have some charters and private boats. You will need a license on the private boats and we will try to notify you in advance if this is the case.  You can obtain a license at Bass Pro Shops, www.myFWC.com , at most tackle shops or you can call 1-888-FISHFLORIDA 24 hours a day with a credit card and they will give you a code number.

2:30 pm Prizes!

Note for below: Updated prizes and rules will be posted on the NE Florida Web page, these have changed.

  •     Tackle/art, rod/reel or other prizes:
  •     1 drawing from all who caught or released fish
  •     1 drawing from all who caught fish over 10 lbs. returned to the dock
  •     1 drawing from all who didn’t catch fish (hard luck)
  •     Heaviest fish prize
  • Inshore longest fish prize
  •  Stay tuned, there may be more prizes added!

Simple Rules:

  • Catch or release a fish, be eligible for prize drawing. One person on boat records name, type of fish. Hard luck for those who didn’t catch. For the drawings, each person gets 1 ticket no matter how many fish they caught or released.
  • Species: All legal inshore and offshore fish, including bottom fish, all longer than 6 inches.
  • Releases for sharks, stingrays, sailfish, marlin, tarpon, barracuda, bonito, catfish, anything else over 6 inches count in the release category. Estimate is ok.
  • Weigh in is for:
  • Offshore and Inshore – Fish estimated at 10 lbs. and heavier only, must be legal fish.
  • Inshore only – Fish over 15 inches.
  • It is ok to weigh a jack or bonito but we hope the fish will either be consumed or bonito used for bait strips to be used for later date. We are conservation-minded.
  • Protected species should not be brought to the dock (sharks, stingrays, sailfish, tarpon, etc.).
  • In the name of education, it is allowed for the captain or mate to assist with hookup but a single angler must fight the fish and bring it to the boat. Pulled hooks do not count. Released fish must be under control at the moment of release.
  • Conservation and proper release is to be observed.
