New Anglers Nail the Fish at “Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing!” Gulf Coast University March 23-24

FORT MYERS, FL – March 2024- – Aspiring anglers from all around Florida and other states united to learn fishing skills at the “Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing!” (LLGF) Gulf Coast University March 23-24 at Bass Pro Shops, Fort Myers, FL. The University offered education, fishing skill practice and an optional fishing trip.

The “No Yelling School of Fishing” provided a classroom presentation by Capt. Barry Nicholls and Betty Bauman. Skill practice for knot tying, fly casting, spin casting, live shrimp usage and net casting was offered, provided by local anglers and guides.

For the Sunday inshore fishing, participants caught and/or released snook, redfish, sea trout and other species.

Ft. Myers University Fishing Report – Half Day, Sunday

“Caught” could signify either landing or releasing.

Capt. Larry Hendricks Tall Tales Charters: Nine sea trout and an amberjack.

Capt. Sean Middleton Feelin the Mojo Fishing Charters: Three snook 12-22 inches, eight ladyfish, three keeper sea trout up to 19 inches, 5 sea trout released, a mangrove snapper, a catfish and five jack crevalles.

Capt. Eric Johnson See N Red Fishing Charters: Three snook 12-18 inches, one redfish 20 inches, 15 trout with 12 released, 6 catfish released and 25 ladyfish released. For Bonnie Victor, Fort Myers, FL all her fish were first-time ever fish. Elizabeth Anderson, Zephyrhills, FL caught her first sea trout ever.  They also saw dolphins and pink flamingo birds.

Capt. Barry Nicholls Capt. Barry Cuda Charters: Participants released twelve mangrove snappers, eleven catfish and a sheepshead. They saw roseate spoonbills, dolphins and a manatee.

Capt. Kyle Gabor: A mangrove snapper, a sea trout and three blue catfish.

New anglers from various Florida regions united to learn fishing skills at the “Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing!” (LLGF) Gulf Coast University held at Bass Pro Shops Fort Myers, FL March 23-24.
