<strong>South Florida Offshore Seminar and Fishing Slated for Women April 14-16, 2023</strong>

Changing the tide of fishing by encouraging more female participation

Women are invited to learn offshore fishing skills and try fishing at the South Florida Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing University, April 14-16, 2023 at the VFW Post 1966, 350 SW 25th St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315. FL. Hosted by the nonprofit organization, the “No Yelling School of Fishing” offers Saturday classroom presentations, networking, hands-on skill practice and an optional Sunday charter fishing trip.

            Activities launch Friday evening with an informal meet-and-greet from 6-7:30pm. On Saturday beginning at 9 am are presentations on Fishing Basics by Capt. Lee Lavery, Offshore Fishing by Jeanne Towne and Conservation by Betty Bauman. Hands-on skill practice follows, for releasing, knot tying, dehooking, bait rigging, spin casting, cast netting and more until 4:30 pm. On Sunday is an optional charter fishing trip for sailfish, mahi mahi, mackerel, tuna, wahoo, snapper and more, followed by a filet demonstration.

Ladies are welcome to register a male guest and/or teens to include the whole family. Nine thousand women have graduated. LLGF also conducts virtual meetings.

Early Registration of $99 includes goodies, instruction, use of equipment, hands-on training, networking reception and fundraisers. Optional offshore fishing on Sunday is additional. No equipment nor experience is necessary. No membership is required, however graduates can join the LLGF South Florida chapter to continue the fishing fun.

About “Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing!”

The Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing Foundation (LLGF) is a nonprofit 501C3 organization dedicated to attracting women and families to fishing while encouraging conservation and responsible angling. Known as the “No-Yelling School of Fishing,” LLGF conducts weekend, immersion-based educational programs in multiple regions of Florida with classroom presentations, hands-on practice, networking and an option to fish from boats or land, depending on the venue.
