
Women Learn Fishing at Progressive® Insurance Tampa Boat Show™ Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing! Learn to Fish on Sept. 9
Women came from as far as Ocala to attend the Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing Learn to Fish event at the Progressive® Insurance Tampa Boat Show™ on Sept. 9. The educational event featured instruction on fishing strategy and techniques, hands-on skill practice with guides and more. Optional fishing for the “No Yelling School of Fishing.” was available for Sept. 10.
Held at the Tampa Convention Center on Sept. 9 from noon to 6 p.m., the clinic was preceded by a Freedom Boat Club cruise.
Speakers and instructors for the “No Yelling School of Fishing.” were Betty Bauman, Founder of Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing, Capt. Leiza Fitzgerald, Misty Wells, Capt. Rachel Nobbe, Capt. Scott Keith, Alice Trautman and Pam Wirth.
Registration included show admission, inshore/bay fishing instruction, hands-on practice for knot-tying & casting skills practice, lunch, Freedom Boat Club networking event, swag bag plus a voucher for a Freedom Boat Club Sunset Boat Cruise for up to 6 people.
On the optional Monday charter fishing trip, ladies fishing with Capt. Rachel Nobbe released 8 trout, 4 jack crevalle, 3 snook, a bluefish, flounder and 7 catfish.

The final 2018 LLGF event is Oct.19-21 in Islamorada with a full day of inshore and offshore instruction by fishing legends, hands-on practice, networking and two days of optional fishing.

About “Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing!”
The Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing Foundation (LLGF) is a nonprofit 501C3 organization dedicated to attracting women and families to fishing, while encouraging conservation and responsible angling. Known as the “No-Yelling School of Fishing,” LLGF conducts weekend, immersion-based educational programs in multiple regions of Florida with classroom presentations, hands-on practice, networking and an option to fish from boats or land, depending on the venue.
